Job Summary:

The Fundraising Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other sources. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization by identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and managing fundraising campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Set annual fundraising targets in collaboration with leadership and track progress toward goals.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing donors to encourage recurring contributions.
  • Organize donor appreciation efforts, including thank-you letters, recognition events, and impact reports.

Campaign and Event Management:

  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, such as annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns.
  • Organize and oversee fundraising events, including logistics, sponsorship solicitation, and participant engagement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials for campaigns and events.

Grant Writing and Reporting:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s programs.
  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals and ensure timely follow-up and reporting to funders.

Financial Oversight:

  • Track and report fundraising income, expenses, and ROI for campaigns and events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records using a donor management system (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect).

Collaboration and Networking:

  • Work closely with the leadership team to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and community activities to enhance visibility and attract support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years in fundraising, development, or related roles, preferably in a non-profit setting.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive proposal writing.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office-based work and occasional travel for events and donor meetings.
  • Flexible schedule, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for events or deadlines.
